Dictionary Day

Dictionary Day is celebrated on October 16 in honor of Noah Webster. The objective of this day is to emphasize the importance of dictionary skills and to improve your vocabulary.
Webster was born on October 16, 1758 and he is considered to be the "Father of the American Dictionary." Noah Webster began to write his dictionary at the age of 43 and it took him 27 years to finish it.

Find FIVE new words in your dictionary. Write the definition for each word, then use each new word in a sentence.
